I am interested in joining the Kidney Walk/March in Calgary where I live but but have been concerned I may not be able to go the distance. Only reason is periodic pain (large kidney stones- still have ten stones after two treatments since Thanksgiving) and the level of fatigue can be a challenge(GFR is 15 this month). Have been thinking maybe if I had a kidney"buddy" to walk with. My partner, Carol, can't walk with me even though she used to be very athletic and active . Her MS after 19 years is now progressing and walking more than a block is a challenge. Maybe we could set up a program here on this forum to encourage each other to start walking and keep it up. I am wondering if any of the digital devices you can wear to count steps is a good idea? What do other people find helpful in walking and recording the distance? Or in staying motivated? I welcome ides and suggestions.
