Hey there my name is Sheena i am 41 years old and live in St. John's NL. I am a dialysis patient as of last July. It was quite a new routine to get used too but after 5 years of trying to avoid it my GFR went down to 4 so that was that next step.
I had surgery for crhins in Aug 07 and kept getting badly dehydrated and thus wrecked my kidneys. Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself
You're welcome. Whenever I read of somebody being anxious about dialysis, I do what I can to relieve them. The unknown can be a lot worse (in one's mind) than the actual thing. As Mark Twain said: "I have lived through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened." (or something to that effect)
Hi, my name is Gwen and I was just diagnosed with stage 3 CKD. My doctor says my kidneys are functioning at 42%. I have only seen the specialist once at the end of November when I received my diagnosis. I see him again at the beginning of January. I have an ultrasound tomorrow and get more blood and the like taken on Thursday. I am very new to all of this and am quickly trying to amass as much information as I can about CKD. I must say that the diagnosis has my head spinning at bit.
