We are heading to our 6th week post kidney transplant. Robert is doing amazingly. He has to keep that water in (keep up the drinking) though so that our "rock star" does its job well! :) His meds went down to lesser doses now & we hope for more changes to come! His bloodwork still on a weekly basis, and his clinic visits are now in once a month basis (unless he needs to be in to see the specialist). The good thing is - he gets call from the clinic (from the Nurse or the Pharmacist) each week after his bloodwork for the results which is really great!! We also get the results (paper copy) from them when we go to the clinic.
I can't believe on Tuesday is our 6th weeks after the kidney transplant. As for me, I am scheduled to see the surgeon this Friday for a 6-week post-ops follow up. I am hopeful for a good follow-up. :)
For Robert, he is scheduled to get the stent remove this Thursday plus visit to his family doctor. And at the end of this month, his PD catheter is scheduled to be removed. Everything is coming into place. He is so excited.
Hope you and your fiancee are both doing great. It is amazing how the body works itself to healing. It is a blessing. You both take care of yourselves.
I bet keeping your mind otherwise occupied is a challenge! Hopefully you can sneak some relaxation into the mix?... Maybe a pedicure? I'm sure having fancy toes is a prerequisite for donating a kidney?!?!....
June will be here before you know it! Very exciting!... What an amazing gift!!! Thanks for sharing Jennifer. Is there anything you have to do before the transplant to prepare?... All the best to you both:)
